Synopsis - Q's back! This time he takes the ship to another part of the galaxy where they encounter a race known as the Borg, a race known only to Guinan and one the Federation should not yet have encountered.

Q Who brings the crew face to face with an enemy that the crew shoulld not be ready to face. But as Picard points out, Q did remind them that they mustn't be overly-confident and to keep on their toes. It is briefly mentioned here that the destruction on one of the planets they come across is similar to that of the bases along the Romulan border in The Neutral Zone. The Borg would finally make their way back to Federation space, a year and a half later for the third season finale The Best Of Both Worlds.

Also of note, this is the only time in the Next Generation that we see any sign the Borg even have babies in their collective, like the nursery we saw. The next time we would see anything similar would be in the 5th season Voyager episode Drone.
